Life is about different things to different people.
To me, life is about making a difference. I want to add as much value and meaning to other people's lives as I can. I really enjoy helping them make sense of their suffering and overcome their problems.
My first job was as a Triage Counselor at a psychiatric hospital in the Denver, CO area. My wife and I moved back to the Kansas City area in 2005 and I worked as a School Counselor for 8 years. In 2013 I started Peace Partnership, a non-profit counseling practice that helps low-income families and kids. Being the Executive Director of Peace Partnership is my full-time job, and Genesis Counseling is my side gig. I started Genesis Counseling in 2016 to help people who don't fit the financial guidelines of Peace Partnership.

I'm a foodie. From high-end restaurants to neighborhood hole-in-the-wall places - if it's good I'll go!

I love soccer. I'm an FC Barcelona fan and visited the Camp Nou stadium in 2014. It's one of my favorite memories.

My wife and I enjoy traveling. So far we've been to Spain, England, France, the Netherlands, Venezuela, and Ecuador.

I have been working with Jon since 2021 through Peace Partnership. Once completing my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University I was given the great opportunity to join and continue to learn from him through Genesis Counseling.
Prior to finding my calling of becoming a professional counselor I attended the University of Kansas where I acheived a B.A. in Political Science and Government. I am home grown in the Kansas City area where I met, and have been happily married to, my wonderful wife of 4 years.

Regina Schweizer, MA, PLPC
I initially joined the Peace Partnership team in 2020 during my counseling internship. After earning my Masters in Counseling in 2021, I officially became a part of the Peace Partnership team. I joined Genesis Counseling in early 2023 to continue offering counseling to people who don't meet Peace Partnership's income guidelines.
Prior to that, I earned my Bachelors in Counseling at Moody Bible Institute and have had the opportunity to help people through a resource pregnancy center, college campus trauma recovery groups, and youth work in the United States and Portugal. I have been married to a wonderful guy since 2016 and have two really amazing kids. I look forward to meeting you!

Office Manager
As the Owner’s wife, I have been involved in Genesis Counseling from the ground up. When you call in to schedule an appointment, I'm the person on the other end of the phone. I've been an office manager for 17 years and I love what I do!
